If you're visiting Bozeman this summer—or lucky enough to live here—we put together five of our favorite Bozeman outdoor activities, each paired with something Montana-grown to slow them down just right. Consider this less of a checklist and more of an invitation to take the scenic route.
Summer in the Gallatin Valley moves at its own pace. The afternoons stretch long, the rivers run cold, and there's a particular kind of light that spills over the Bridgers around 8 p.m. that makes you forget what time it is, or whether time was really the point in the first place.
If you're visiting Bozeman this summer—or lucky enough to live here—we put together five of our favorite Bozeman outdoor activities, each paired with something Montana-grown to slow them down just right. Consider this less of a checklist and more of an invitation to take the scenic route.
A quick note before you head out the door: Juniper has two locations to make finding us easy. Our flagship just off Main Street is your dispensary near Yellowstone, and our Belgrade location is a convenient dispensary on the way to Big Sky. Stop in either one and our team will happily talk through pairings, dosing, or just where to grab the best sandwich on your way out of town.
1. A Hyalite Day: Reservoir, Falls, and a Good Sandwich
Twenty miles south of Bozeman and you're somewhere else entirely. Hyalite Reservoir sits cupped in the Custer Gallatin National Forest, and on a calm morning the water glasses over for a paddle that feels closer to meditation than exercise. Bring a stand-up paddle board (or rent one in town) and give yourself a few unhurried hours.
After the paddle, walk the short trail up to Palisade Falls—a 0.6-mile paved path that delivers a 70-foot waterfall with minimal effort, which is the best kind of trade. Don't skip a stop at Fink's Deli on your way out of town. A turkey sandwich on the rocks by the reservoir is one of the great small joys of a Montana summer.
The Pairing: Good Pharma THC gummies in Pineapple or Mango. Made right here in Montana, they're balanced for a long, easy day outside. The kind of dose that lets you actually feel the water under your paddle—not the kind that has you debating clouds for forty minutes.

2. A Float Day on the Madison
If you've never floated the Madison, this is the summer to fix that. Put in at one of the access points outside Ennis and let the river do most of the work. Bring sunscreen, snacks, a dry bag, and the kind of patience that only an unhurried river current can teach you.
The Pairing: Our growers half-jokingly call our RBF flower "Rocky's Best Flower," after our grower Rocky—who treats every plant like family. It's a river-day strain: balanced, social, easygoing. If you'd rather skip rolling on a moving boat, grab a Grease Monkey 5-pack of pre-rolls. They're our go-to for float days because the prep is already done. Just don't drop them in the drink.

3. Sacajawea Peak: Earn the View
This one's for the early risers. Sacajawea is the highest peak in the Bridger Range at just over 9,650 feet, and the trailhead at Fairy Lake puts you on a roughly 4-mile round-trip that gains real elevation fast.
Start before sunrise. You'll thank yourself when the sun crests and you've already cleared the treeline. Keep an eye out for the mountain goats along the ridge—they're often more curious than cautious, so give them their space. From the summit, the view stretches across the entire Gallatin Valley, with the Spanish Peaks to the south and the Crazies on the eastern horizon. On the way down, Fairy Lake at the trailhead is begging for a quick plunge. It'll wake you up better than coffee. We promise. If you are heading back toward the valley via I-90, our Belgrade dispensary location is just off the highway to help you restock for the evening.
The Pairing: High Road Huckleberry 1:1 CBD gummies. Because what says Montana more than huckleberry? The 1:1 ratio is built for active recovery—a little THC for the mood, a little CBD for the legs that just earned a beer and a hot meal.

4. The Lindley Park Lazy Afternoon
Some days don't need a destination. Five minutes from our downtown Bozeman dispensary on East Main, Lindley Park is one of Bozeman's quietly perfect places: shady oaks at the bottom for the heat of the afternoon, and an open sunny meadow at the top near Peets Hill and the Bozeman Public Library.
Bring a hammock or a blanket. Pack your earbuds, a book, and maybe a copy of Montana Cannabis Magazine if you're feeling on-brand. Watch the dog walkers go by. Doze a little. Let the afternoon do what it wants to do—which is usually nothing in particular, and that's exactly the point.
The Pairing: A single Good Pharma gummy—Sour Berry if you're aiming for an actual nap, Green Apple if you'd like to stay awake long enough to make it back to dinner.

5. The Tour de Bozeman: A Day on Two Wheels
Bozeman is a quietly excellent bike town, and most visitors don't realize how much of it you can see without ever getting in a car. The Gallatin Valley Land Trust has spent decades building and maintaining a network of trails that threads the whole city together, and the Galligator Trail is the spine you want to follow.
Start at Kagy on the south side near MSU and ride north. You'll pass under cottonwoods, past the rock installations along the trail, across trickling creeks, and eventually past the Bozeman Public Library. Keep going and you'll end up near Story Mill and the Bozeman Beach on the north side, where the Bridgers stand watch over the valley.

The Pairing: Montana Carts. A discreet vape cart is the bike-day MVP—no rolling, no packing, no fuss. Tuck one in your jersey pocket and you're set for the whole loop.
A Few Favorite Stops Along the Way
Whatever day you pick, you'll probably end up wandering Main Street at some point. A few places we love:
Treeline Coffee — Right next door to our downtown Bozeman dispensary. Easily one of the best espressos in town and a patio worth lingering on, especially if you've got a slow morning and nowhere in particular to be.
SHINE Beer Sanctuary — Order a Montana craft beer and one of their burritos, find a seat on the patio, and watch Bozeman roll by. Few things better on a summer evening.
Altar Cycles — On the north side. Whether you're building a dream bike or just need a tune-up before your Galligator loop, the team there knows their stuff and will treat your ride right.
Come Say Hi Before You Head Out
We like to think of ourselves as the best dispensary in Bozeman because we don't take shortcuts—we hand-water our plants, we know our farmers and makers by name, and we'd genuinely rather have a good conversation than push a product. Whether you're heading west toward Big Sky through Belgrade, south toward Yellowstone, or just sticking close to town, our team is here to help you find the right pairing for the day you're planning.
Stop in. Ask some questions. Make a friend. Take the scenic route.
Juniper Cannabis is a Bozeman and Belgrade-based dispensary serving Southwest Montana with craft-grown flower, edibles, and concentrates. Cannabis products are for adults 21+. Please consume responsibly.
