As more people discover Juniper through our Bozeman dispensary and Belgrade dispensary, we’ve been thoughtfully expanding our cultivation space to ensure we can keep delivering the same level of care, quality, and consistency that our community expects.
One of the most exciting steps in that process is the addition of our newly updated flowering room—an upgraded cultivation space designed to support healthier plants, better environmental control, and more efficient energy use.
Like everything we do at Juniper, this space was built with intention.
A Room Built for the Flowering Stage
The new flower room actually began its life as a vegetative room. Much of the structural buildout was completed several years ago, but our cultivation team recently retrofitted the space specifically for the flowering stage.
This transition included installing new high-efficiency LED lighting, larger dehumidification systems, and upgraded grow benches that better support plants during the most important stage of their life cycle.
Flowering is when cannabis plants develop their aroma, potency, and character. Creating the right environment during this stage makes all the difference.
High-Efficiency Lighting That Supports Better Growth
The room is powered by 12 high-efficiency 860-watt LED grow lights.
Compared to traditional HID lighting, these LEDs use significantly less energy while also producing less excess heat. That reduction in heat helps lower HVAC demand and creates a more stable growing environment for the plants.
Efficiency matters—not just for operations, but for sustainability as well. Maximizing Space with Rolling Grow Benches
Inside the room, plants are grown on three 20-foot rolling benches designed to maximize space while keeping plants organized and accessible.
The rolling design allows the cultivation team to easily move the benches when watering, inspecting, and maintaining plants.
Elevating the plants also improves airflow beneath the canopy and allows our growers to work efficiently without disturbing the plants.
Like many details in our grow facility, the goal is simple: create an environment where plants—and growers—can perform at their best.
Dialing in the Perfect Climate
Cannabis plants thrive when their environment is stable and consistent. That’s why climate control plays a central role in the design of the new flower room.
The room is cooled by three mini-split air conditioning units that help maintain ideal temperatures throughout the flowering cycle.
At the same time, two commercial-grade dehumidifiers remove excess moisture from the air. Managing humidity is critical during flowering, as too much moisture can impact plant health and flower quality. This meticulous environmental control is exactly how we preserve the delicate terpene profiles in high-potency strains like our live rosin selections.
Together, these systems create the kind of balanced climate that allows plants to mature slowly and develop their full expression.
Constant Airflow for Healthier Plants
Healthy airflow is another key component of cultivation.
Inside the room, four horizontal airflow (HAF) fans circulate air continuously in what growers call a “racetrack pattern.” This movement keeps air evenly mixed throughout the room while creating a gentle, consistent breeze around the plants.
That circulation helps regulate temperature, prevent stagnant air pockets, and strengthen plant structure.
The result is a healthier canopy and more consistent flower development.
Supporting Plant Growth with CO₂ Enrichment
The flowering room is also enriched with CO₂, which helps increase the plants’ metabolic rate.
With elevated CO₂ levels, cannabis plants are able to photosynthesize more efficiently. This encourages stronger growth and allows the plants to reach their full potential during flowering.
When combined with proper lighting, airflow, and climate control, CO₂ enrichment helps create the kind of balanced environment that high-quality cultivation requires.
Technology That Monitors Every Detail
All of these systems—from lighting and air conditioning to humidity and CO₂—are connected through a fully integrated environmental control system.
The system continuously monitors key parameters within the room, including:
• Temperature
• Humidity
• Lighting schedules
• CO₂ levels
If anything shifts outside the ideal range, the system automatically adjusts equipment to stabilize the environment. It can also send alerts to the cultivation team if there’s ever a change that requires attention.
This level of monitoring allows our growers to stay focused on what matters most: caring for the plants themselves.
